Bus Fares & Passes

The standard fare is $1.00. The fare is paid when you board the bus and is good for a one-way trip with free connections. Fares for people 65 and older or with disabilities are $0.50. (Proof of age or disability is required for initial discount fare qualification. For more information, visit our Fare Discount Eligibility  page).

The following fares and passes may be purchased on the bus:

Picture Passes

Additional passes are sold at the Athens Mayor’s Office in City Hall.

When: Monday – Friday from 8am to 4pm.
Location: 8 E Washington Street in uptown Athens, across from the Parking Garage and Chase Bank

When purchasing a pass, please bring cash or check and a photo ID to the Utilities Billing Window. Checks may be made out to the “City of Athens.” 

These passes, referred to as Picture Passes, represent our deepest discounts, so keep them in mind if you plan to ride regularly!
