Medicaid Connect
We want to help our neighbors have a better quality of life and better health outcomes. That's why we are working to build stronger connections between Southeast Ohioans, Managed Care Companies, and local healthcare providers. This program serves all ten counties in the SE Ohio Foodbank service area. It offers health education, resource navigation, and personalized case management through a team of community health specialists.
Healthy Eating
Often, those living with lower incomes and facing food insecurity grapple with chronic diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure. These health conditions impact their well-being. HAPCAP and the SE Ohio Foodbank address this by distributing nutritious foods like produce, whole grains, dairy, and lean proteins. Through various programs, we redirect surplus from farmers to those in need and provide healthy, shelf-stable items to combat hunger in the region.
Narcan Program
HAPCAP offers free Narcan (Naloxone), a nasal spray that is crucial for reversing opioid overdoses. Being prepared with this treatment can save a life in the case of an overdose. This is especially important with the accidental ingestion of fentanyl, a highly potent opioid that is on the rise.
